The Four Agreements In The Classroom

The second of the agreements, the social agreement, answers the question: “Who do we want to be when we are together?” After we have all developed a personal agreement, once we are all aware of what we want to be, we must reach a consensus together on how we want to deal with each other. To establish a social agreement, we must all have a sense of connection with all the other members of the group and there must be a minimum of trust among the members of the group. In a school, social conventions can usually be summarized as follows: “We want to learn, be respectful, be responsible and safe.” In the classroom, this idea can manifest itself by the angry or angry child/student that you have in their anger nasty, ugly and hateful things. This is our long-standing family arrangement. In a classroom, it is best if all adults and students involved in the room are present during the role hearing. The process of discussion and compromise in defining roles lays the foundation for a successful school year, during which many dangers and obstacles will be avoided. Teaching roles allows students to know what to expect and helps develop a safe risk environment.
